Permanent Replacement of Missing Teeth in Bratislava

What Is a Dental Implant?

Dental implants are a modern long-term solution for tooth loss. A dental implant is a small titanium screw inserted into the upper or lower jaw to replace the root of a missing tooth.

The implant is fully biocompatible, does not cause allergic reactions and provides a stable base for a dental crown, bridge or full tooth replacement. After healing, it serves as a firm base for a new tooth that is functionally and aesthetically indistinguishable from a natural one.

How Many Dental Implants Do I Need?

The number of implants is individual and depends on the extent of missing teeth:

  • For one missing tooth: 1 implant + crown
  • For several missing teeth: implants as support for a bridge
  • For complete tooth loss: several implants support the entire restoration

The exact plan is determined by the implantologist based on examination and 3D diagnostics (CBCT).

Why Replace a Missing Tooth with an Implant?

A missing tooth is not only an aesthetic problem. A dental implant eliminates these problems, restores full function of the teeth and helps prevent serious complications:

Shifting and tilting of neighboring teeth.

Loss of bone mass (bone atrophy).

Problems with the jaw joint.

Impaired chewing and digestion.

Impaired speech (articulation).

Guided Implantology - precise placement

At our clinic, we use guided implantology, one of the most modern methods in dentistry. Before the procedure, we perform a 3D CBCT examination, digital tooth scan and virtual implant planning. Based on this data, we create a 3D-printed surgical guide that enables exceptionally precise and safe placement.

How Does Dental Implant
Placement Work?

1

1. Initial Examination

Examination by an implantologist, 3D CT (CBCT) scan and precise treatment planning. If there is not enough bone, it can be supplemented with bone augmentation.

2

2. Implant Placement

The implant is placed into the bone under local anesthesia, so the procedure is painless. The patient goes home after the procedure.

3

3. Crown Placement

After healing (about 2-4 months), a crown is created using a digital scan (CEREC technology) and then attached to the implant.

5-Year Warranty

All procedures are covered by a standard 5-year warranty with regular dental hygiene at least twice a year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does dental implant placement hurt?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so it is fully painless. Mild swelling or sensitivity may appear afterward and usually subsides within a few days.
What is the lifespan and warranty of an implant?
With proper care, dental implants can last for decades. The procedure is covered by a standard 5-year warranty. Regular dental hygiene (at least twice a year) and correct home care are required.
What if I do not have enough bone?
In modern dentistry, this is not a problem. Missing bone can be restored with augmentation (bone grafting). The doctor assesses this using a 3D CT scan before planning implantation.
How long does the whole process take?
The whole process from placement to crown fitting usually takes 3 to 6 months. It depends on healing speed and implant integration with the bone (osseointegration).
