General Anesthesia

At SK Dental Clinic Bratislava, we offer dental treatment under general anesthesia – an ideal solution for patients who want to undergo procedures without pain, stress, or unpleasant experiences.

Who is general anesthesia suitable for?

Treatment under general anesthesia is especially suitable for:

    • children (from 3 years of age, with a minimum weight of 15 kg)deti (od 3 rokov, s minimálnou hmotnosťou 15 kg)
    • patients with a fear of the dentist
    • individuals with special needs
    • patients requiring extensive or time-consuming treatments

How does the procedure work?

The entire process begins with an individual consultation, during which we discuss the
treatment plan and assess the suitability of general anesthesia.

The procedure itself:

  • is carried out under the supervision of an experienced anesthesiologist
  • typically lasts approximately 3–4 hours, depending on the extent of treatment
  • anesthesia is administered intravenously (into a vein)
  • premedication is used for relaxation (e.g. Midazolam – a “relaxation cocktail” to
    reduce stress)
  • the patient is intubated and continuously monitored throughout the procedure

During general anesthesia, the patient is in a controlled sleep state and does not
perceive the procedure or feel any pain.

Safety and preparation

Before the procedure, a pre-operative examination by an internist is required.
Throughout the procedure, all vital functions are continuously monitored, and after
completion, the patient wakes up under professional supervision.

Note: Entonox (laughing gas) is not used with this type of anesthesia.

Price of treatment

Includes general anesthesia at €250/hour + dental procedures.

The final price depends on the scope of treatment and will be determined individually
during the consultation.

Maximum comfort. No pain. No stress.
